Machine Dreams and Electric Whispers

Hey friends, I am happy to finally share some news on my new collection of work. You can find them below:

Firstly, my new main body of work, titled Machine Dreams and Electric Whispers

// In a far-flung future, humanity’s echoes are but faint whispers. The cosmos itself is descending into an eternal slumber. The only signs left that remind the void that intelligent life once existed are old machines. AI’s created during humanity’s peak. These, now mostly damaged and decrepit, relics harbour memories and anecdotes of a time long gone capturing the elusive essence of what it once meant to be human.

This collection of works explores the surreal enigma of humanity’s enduring legacy through the gaze of these machines. //

My new series of works will follow a set of rules (a manifesto). I believe it will be my most interconnected work to date. Lastly, even though having rules creates boundaries, I belive they may also help me create works with more freedom; challenging my own set limitations resulting in combinations I had not forseen.

  1. The exploration of free brushstrokes and colour to create implied detail
  2. Stories no longer than 100 words and only for fully realised illustrations. Lighter works to feature poetry.
  3. Works to be in 9:16 or 16:9 ratio when combined
  4. All works to be drawn by hand with no use of AI except as a correction or filling tool (like photoshop’s content aware fill feature). I will be doing experiments with AI for my other collection however.
  5. Characters and creatures to be drawn in a similar style, keeping features consistent
  6. The use of colour and gradient to create shadow
  7. Characters and creatures to have proportions consistent with the Universe they are drawn, and consistent with each other.
  8. A wider focus on the spiritual and personal aspects of astrology and mythology
  9. The creation of original creatures and tales
  10. To bring joy to all viewers, collectors and observers 🙂

Secondly, I want to talk about my second new body of work, titled ‘The Cyber Chronicles’

These are works more similar to my previous set, such as my inktober pieces. I consider this set more similar to my edition works and smaller/sketchier 1/1 works. These will feature more variety and experimentation. These also allow for further commission and project based work. My five favourite inktober pieces will be released as 1/1 works for this collection. I will be reducing the number of prints I have available too and only keep my favourites, however I will announce this after my next print sale (which will be in January 2024).

To finish, thank you again to all who have supported me so far, I hope this coming series of works and coming year can help more people see my work and more of my art vision be fulfilled. Apologies it has taken so long to make this post, I’ve been a little unwell so have been keeping this going at my own pace.
